Where are we in the text?

By the end of the lecture on 1999-12-01, we had covered the following sections of Montgomery, D.C. & Runger, G.C. (1999) Applied statistics and probability for engineers, Second Edition, Wiley.

The material on the Bootstrap, Operating Characteristic Curves and Probability Plots will be useful to you some day but we don't have time to discuss these topics in class so they won't be on the exam.

The remaining lecture will cover:

STUDY HINTS!

Be sure you know how to use your calculator to do simple linear regression ANOVA, single-factor ANOVA and two-factor ANOVA calculations! These are simple to do, guaranteed to be on the final exam, and easy marks if you know what you are doing.

Be sure you know definitions for ALL the terms listed on the statistical jargon page. Check in the text or come and see me if there are any definitions you are not sure of.

The exercises from Chapters 12 and 13 in Exercise #3 will give you practice in regression, single-factor and two-factor ANOVA, the final topics on the course. I will post model solutions.
