Title: Some examples of ancient solutions to the Ricci flow
Abstract: A one-parameter family g_t of smooth complete Riemannian metrics satisfy the Ricci flow if their time-derivative equals -2 times their Ricci tensor. An ancient solution is such a family which is defined for the interval (-\infty, a) for some finite a. I will explain why they are of interest and then give a leisurely account of known examples and briefly describe their interesting features.
