In 2023, after merging with the Politehnica University of Bucharest, the University of Pitesti has become the Pitesti University Center within the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest, an institution that started its activity on August 1, 2023. As of August 1, 2023 I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest - Pitesti University Center. Between October 1, 2013-July 31, 2023 I was an Associate Professor (on leave between March 16, 2015-December 31, 2016) in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Pitesti. Between January 1, 2016-December 31, 2016 I was a Research Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Pisa. Between March 16, 2015-December 31, 2015 I was a Research Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Trento. Between June 1, 2013-November 30, 2014 I was a researcher at the "Simion Stoilow" Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy. Between August 1, 2012-January 31, 2013 I was a Bitdefender Fellow at the "Simion Stoilow" Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy. Between September 1, 2010-July 31, 2012 I was a postdoc at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne. Before that I was a postdoc in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at McMaster University between January 1, 2008-June 30, 2010.

Teaching between 2009-2012 Personal Information

I was born in Romania, in the city of Timisoara. I did my undergraduate studies in Romania, at the West University of Timisoara. In the U.S.A. I got my M.S. degree from the Ohio State University and my doctoral degree from the University of Michigan, under the supervision of Professor Juha Heinonen, tragically passed away in October 2007.

Research Interests

My research interests encompass two broad areas of analysis. The first area is in the intersection of geometric function theory, nonlinear potential theory and analysis on metric spaces. The second area consists of operator theoretic aspects of function theory, especially corona and interpolation problems. You can find copies of my papers and a description of my research here.
