- Here are your test scores and
assignment grades as I have them recorded; they are ordered by the last
4 digits of your student number. An A has been recorded whenever
there was an allowable excuse for a missed test. If there is any
discrepancy, please let me know.
- The final exam is Dec. 21 from 4 pm to 7 pm; check the registrar's website for seating.
- The topics covered will be sections all topics for tests 1, 2 and
sections 8.1 - 8.6, 9.1, 9.4 - 9.7. The weighting for the final
will be roughly 30/30/40 for material on the first test / second test /
since the second test. I will post practice problems shortly.
- You are allowed to have the standard McMaster calculator, Casio fx-991 on the test. No other aids are allowed.
- The best gauge of the level of the test is to look at the homework and practice problems.
- I will hold office hours Dec. 19, 10:30 - 12 and a review session
Dec. 20, 10:30 - 11:30. Matt will hold a review session at 1:30 - 2:30
on Dec. 19 and office hours 1:30 - 3 on Dec. 20. Both review sessions will be held in HH 302. Throughout the rest of the exam period I am available
by appointment or by email.
- There is a problem with 8.5 #14b and the correct answer is
not there. I have awarded everyone 2 marks for this
problem. If you wish to try it for practice, here is the problem and here is the correct answer.
- There is a problem with 8.3 #13a from the WileyPlus
assignment. Do the first two parts and if you think you have the
last part correct but WileyPlus marks it wrong, send me email and I
will have a look.
- Assignment 7 was posted late; it is not due until the end of the day, Saturday, Nov. 12.
- Here is the test and the solutions. Your test will be returned in the tutorial on Thursday.
- The second test will occur Nov. 4 at 8:30 am in T28/001. The test will be 50 minutes long. The topics covered will be sections 6.4 - 6.6, 7.1 - 7.3, 10.6 and 11.17 - 11.18.

answer among the 5 choices. I have given everyone 2 marks for
this question. I would still suggest you do the question and see
if you can determine what the correct answer should be.
