Feb. 14, 2012. I have posted the bifurcation diagram for the Holling Type IV case above in the Handouts section.
Jan. 28, 2012.I have posted more material related to lab 3 that will be held on Monday, Jan. 30, above in the Handouts section.
Jan. 15, 2012. I have posted lab related material above in the Handouts section.
Don't forget to let me know which application you wish to present next Friday.
Jan. 11, 2012. I have placed material in a password protected folder as discussed in class. You can download it by going to: click here and downloading the .zip file. When prompted, entering the ID and password we discussed in class. It is also accessible under the Handouts section above.
Jan. 6, 2012. Mondays we will meet in HH/207. Unless I
hear of a conflict before next Friday, the Thursday lectures will be
replaced by lectures on Fridays 11:30-12:20 in HH/312.
Please try to install XPPAUT on your own computer and if you are running Windows an X-server (eg. Xming). Please also install Ghostscript and GSview so that you can view postscript files.
XPPAUT: For solving many different types of differential equations including Delay Differential Equation is
downloadable free on the web at:
http://www.math.pitt.edu/~bard/xpp/xpp.html and works for all operating systems. Download the appropriate version for your system.
- If your operating system is some flavour of Windows, you will need an X-server running. Xming http://sourceforge.net/projects/xming/ is free and easily installed. If your operating system is Unix, Linux, or MacOS you will not need this.
- XPPAUT exports graphs as postscript (.ps) files. You can download an interpreter for PostScript. For
Ghostscript and GSview, for example, try
