Algebra & Number Theory:

Algebra developed from the study of solutions of equations defined by polynomials and is now used as a tool in many areas of mathematics. Algebraic Number Theory concerns the special case when the equations have rational or integral coefficients, and Algebraic Geometry involves a powerful correspondence between algebraic and geometric problems. At McMaster the research in these areas focuses on problems in Arithmetic Algebraic Geometry, Algebraic K-theory, p-adic Analysis, and Motivic Cohomology.
