Hardware
Servers
The following general-purpose servers are available to researchers and graduate students in the department:
The two general-purpose compute servers are anatolius and bayes: bayes is primarily for statistical computing and anatolius for everything else. Note that anatolius is signifigantly faster than bayes, but only bayes has S-Plus and SAS available.
Update 2012/05/28: We are going to be adding more compute servers in the Summer of 2012, all of which will be virtualized recent hardware. There will likely be some shuffling of resources between virtual servers - and associated downtime - as we fine-tune performance characteristics.
Researchers and graduate students also have access to the SHARCNET super-computing clusters at McMaster and partner instutions.
