Admissions Requirements
Ph.D. Program in Mathematics

Admission is based on academic merit, and on the availability of funding. The minimum requirements for admission to the Ph.D. program are a Master's degree in mathematics, statistics from a Canadian university, or a related discipline, with a B+ average, and strong letters of recommendation.  Students who do not hold a Canadian Master's degree are advised to apply to the M.Sc. program and, once accepted into the program, can be considered for admission to Ph.D. program under the transfer option.

The admissions requirements for graduate study are described in detail in Section 2.1 of the Graduate Calendar.

For students applying from outside of Canada and the United States, click here for more detailed guidelines for admission.
