The commands to run MATLAB 2006a on the msprime workstations have been changed to bring them in line with the commands on the compute servers. Use matlab2006a and mex20006a instead of matlab_r2006a and mex_r2006a.

Note that the commands matlab and mex will continue to run version 2006a until July 23rd, after which they will run version 2007a.

MATLAB 2007a is now available on bayes, bluespruce, freesurface and the msprime workstations. matlab2007a will run the new version; matlab will continue to run version 2006 until July 23rd.

UTS has announced that univmail and the main campus web site will be unavailable for most of Saturday, June 30th due to a planned power outage.

Ken Moyle will not be out of the office from June 18 - 22. Send questions or requests to sysadmin@math.mcmaster.ca. For an urgent request or if the email is unavailable, contact the staff in the main office as they have the emergency contact information.

The msprime systems were sluggish last week - I believe that the situation is fixed now. Please email sysadmin@math.mcmaster.ca if it feels otherwise to you.

The HH-402 was not accepting print jobs for a few days; the queue is now flowing again.

UTS has announced that the network interruptions from 7:00 am to 8:30 am this Sunday. Web and email will be interrupted and the networked workstations may freeze.
