Firefox Still Dodgy
Even after the latest upgrade, firfox on the msprime systems is still apt to get into a state in which one can't open new windows. I've created a script which will clear the locks without requiring a reboot:
foxhunt
Usage: /usr/local/bin/foxhunt --show|--kill
Looks for stray lock files which produce this error:
Firefox is already running, but is not responding.
To open a new window, you must first
close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.
--show Show processes and lock files.
--kill Terminate processs and remove lock files.
