Mozilla "profile not found" Problem
Following the installation of the new server, some people with pre-2004 accounts can't run mozilla because it claims to not be able to find their profile. A solution is posted in the
Web section
of the Computing Resources FAQ page.

Servers Up Post Power Outage
Mathserv, bayes, spruce and repine are back up as of 10:00 am Sunday following the
construction-related power outage on Saturday.

The 'math' wireless network will be decommissioned on July 1st.

Power off in HH, T13 this Saturday
A reminder that the power will be off in Hamilton Hall and T13 for much of Saturday. All servers and unix workstations will be shut down early Saturday morning; servers will be restarted as soon as possible on Satruday afternoon or evening.

Firefox Upgraded to 1.0.4
Firefox on the msprime workstations has been upgraded from 1.0.2 to 1.0.4.
This release is primarily a security patch, but
themes
are easier to manage in this latest version.

R Upgraded to 2.1.0
R 2.1.0 has been installed on bayes and the msprime workstations. For now, the command
R will run the previous version (2.0.1 on bayes, 2.0.0 on the msprime workstations); use R-2.1 to run the new version.

Gnome Problem Gone
After the May server crash, the msprime workstations had problems with Gnome. Those problems are now gone.
BSB-102 Printer Now in T13-109
The HPLJ 4100 which has been in BSB-102 for the past two years - available via the queues bsb102lj4100, lp1 and lj1 - is now in T12-109, our new graduate-student and visitor over-flow space (BSB is being renovated). The new queue names are t13109lj4100, lp1 and lp2.

Network Problems this Week
There were two network problems this week, one with the DHCP service which affected a few people on Wednesday and Thursday, and one with mail delivery which affected those who use mathserv for email. Both problems are resolved.

Power Off in HH, T13 Sat. June 18th
Due to construction and renovations, power will be shut off in Hamilton Hall and T13 on Saturday, June 18th. HH will be powerless from 8:00 am to noon; T13 will have no power from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

New Cisco VPN Client for OS X 10.4 - Now on UTS Site
UTS has the new Tiger-friendly version of the Cisco VPN Client available for download. MacVPN and MacConnect profiles are bundled.
